At the White House press briefing on Thursday another problem with the Obamacare rollout was revealed. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was unable to give an exact time, as to when the online Spanish-language insurance exchanges would be available. All exchanges were supposed to be ready on October 1st but several have been delayed. Below is a transcript of the question and answer:
Q: Just, I'm sorry, one other thing. I guess another delay is going to be in the Spanish-language online registration -- is that correct -- enrollment?
MR. CARNEY: The online portion of it, I believe, comes -- will come on sometime in October. There is -- again, everything opens on October 1st. Anybody can call in. There will be Spanish speakers available, navigators available who speak Spanish, in order to walk enrollees through the process.
Moreover, you know, we know that 70 percent of the Latino population will be accessing the Affordable Care Act, health care.gov, through the English-language portal to begin with. But it is -- the Spanish-language portion of this will come online in October.
