Jordanian Lawmaker Opens Fire in Parliament

A Jordanian member of parliament opened fire on a fellow lawmaker after an altercation between members. The lawmaker was dismissed Tuesday, First Post reports:

Jordan’s lower house Tuesday dismissed member of parliament Talal Al Sharif after he opened fire at his fellow lawmaker following a brawl in the house, media reported. No one was injured in the incident.

The house also decided to suspend Qusai Al Dmeisi, who was involved in the brawl with Al-Sharif during a meeting to discuss budgetary matters, Xinhua reported citing state-run Petra news agency.

The member was jailed after the episode and accused of attempted murder, among other charges, according to First Post.
