Darryle See was walking on train tracks in Michigan City, Ind., listening to music through headphones when he was hit by an Amtrak train traveling faster than 100 mph, MSN reports.

See was thrown 20 feet from the impact and survived with only a few broken bones.

[T]he Chicago-bound locomotive repeatedly sounded its horn. See didn't hear the blasts and, despite the conductor applying the emergency brakes, the train was still barreling down the tracks at 110 mph when it hit him. "It was absolutely amazing," police Maj. John Boyd said. "I've seen a number of people get hit by trains and it's never a good thing." See remains hospitalized in Indiana with non-life-threatening injuries.
