CNN aired a segment questioning whether JC Penney's recent back to school ad promotes bullying Wednesday on "OutFront."

The controversy itself apparently stemmed from angry Facebook comments concerning a scene in the ad that depicts a child eating alone, ostensibly because his clothes are not "JC Penney cool."

Current TV host Stephanie Miller likened the scene to Lord of the Flies, jokingly asking if the boy in the ad would later be stoned:

STEPHANIE MILLER: Erin, I remember the agony of the day my mother let my Catholic school uniform down like ten inches without telling me. It was humiliation for weeks. First of all, it is classist for people who can't afford maybe new clothes all the time. And the poor kid at the lunch table was like Lord of the Flies. Does he get killed with a rock next? It is really stressful enough for kids.
