In a Rolling Stone interview, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg scoffed at the several Colorado districts where Democratic state senators lost recall elections after they helped pass gun control legislation. "The NRA went after two or three state senators in a part of Colorado where I don’t think there’s roads. It's as far rural as you can get. And, yes, they lost recall elections," Bloomberg said.
Two CBS anchors from Colorado Springs were not amused by Bloomberg's comments. "Well, the mayor may not realize the recalls happened in Colorado Springs and in Pueblo," one anchor offered sarcastically. "The Springs is the second-largest city in the state, while Pueblo is the seventh. "
"And we have plenty of paved roads," added her co-anchor.
Republican candidate for Colorado governor Bob Beauprez called Bloomberg's remarks "infuriatingly ignorant."
