The State Department's spokesperson Patrick Ventrell would not specify who the 'leadership' was from Victoria Nuland's emails that revolved around the Benghazi talking points.
Dodging from reporter's questions, Ventrell pressed that the reference to 'leadership' came from 'cherry picked' words from emails that did not reflect the full truth of any revisions that were being made following the September 11, 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya.
The Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes published a report last week that laid out the timeline and numerous drafts behind the Benghazi talking points that stripped out mentions of terrorist activity.
ABC News reported Friday that the state department's former spokesperson Victoria Nuland led the effort to change the talking points 12 times prior to ambassador Susan Rice's Sunday morning talk show appearances.
