White House spokesman Sean Spicer shut down NBC's Kristen Welker during Tuesday's press briefing.
Welker had asked Spicer about President Trump's executive order that temporarily bars Syrian refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.
Welker repeatedly called the order a "ban," leading Spicer to clarify that it was not a ban because thousands of people were still able to enter the country. She cited a New York Times report in which the word ban was used.
"OK, so I apologize that NBC News' reporting is based on the New York Times false reporting," Spicer said.
