MacLean Nails Dodgeball Reference While Discussing Clinton Spin of Email Scandal

Washington Free Beacon managing editor Aaron MacLean nailed a reference to the 2004 comedy Dodgeball on Monday while discussing the inability of Hillary Clinton's team to spin her seemingly endless email problems.

Clinton running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) was the latest to side-step a question on Meet The Press Sunday about whether or not Clinton lied to the public about having classified material on her private server, an assessment already made by the FBI.

"Senator Kaine's answer to question was sort of like the five rules of Dodgeball: Dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge," MacLean said. "There's going to be a repetitive quality to this stuff. I think we're going to be done with this issue, my guess is some time in 2020, and the fact is there is no good answer. So anyone associated with Clinton's campaign, because of her congenital unwillingness to be completely forthcoming, is going to have to find some way to dodge these questions. This is going to go on and on."

As relayed by star dodgeball player Patches O'Houlihan, the five Ds of Dodgeball are indeed dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge.

MacLean added Republican candidate Donald Trump should be deeply concerned by the likes of a reliably red state like Arizona being in play for Clinton in the general election, as well as national polls showing Trump lagging behind his rival by as much as 15 points.

"When you're talking about numbers that low, you're looking at a wave election," he said. "You're looking at an election where unusual things can happen, where Republicans are in danger in the Senate, they're in danger in the House. I think the concern is warranted."
