Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer pointed out the hypocrisy of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.)'s rebellion against a $1.1 trillion government spending bill on Thursday, calling it "spectacular hypocrisy."
"Spectacular hypocrisy, a festival of hypocrisy," Krauthammer told Fox's Bret Baier on Friday. "And of course the media loves it when its a liberal Democrat who leads the fight, 'she's a principled politician,' whereas when it's Ted Cruz, 'he's a terrorist,' essentially."
Krauthammer also said Warren's proposed amendment to the bill would guarantee a government shutdown.
"She of course knows exactly what the Republicans are trying to do because if her amendment is accepted, the government will shut down," Krauthammer said.
Warren's display, he predicted, would mark the beginning of her campaign because her "hero worship" in the media is rising, much like then-Senator Barack Obama's did between 2004 and 2008.
"I do think, however, for her this works, because this is, if she becomes a candidate, maybe not in 2016, but certainly afterwards, she's now already a national figure," Krauthammer said.
