The Democrats are launching a new campaign hoping to restore America's faith in them, but the Congressional Leadership Fund released an ad Monday aiming to debunk everything the Democrats are trying to rebrand themselves as.
CLF, a House Republican-backed super PAC, is running the digital advertisement entitled "Resistance" nationwide in Democratic congressional districts, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's (D., Calif.).
The ad describes Democrats as the "party of resistance" to President Donald Trump that is toting the same liberal ideas, despite the release of the new Democratic slogan, "A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future."
Featured in the ad is Pelosi, who has been criticized by some in her caucus as an anchor around local Democrats due to her national unpopularity.
"It's no surprise that Democrats want to pretend Nancy Pelosi and her toxic brand don't exist," CFL Executive Director Cory Bliss said. "The simple truth is that a Democrat is someone who is beholden to Nancy Pelosi, wants to raise your taxes, is blinded by their hatred of the president, and regularly loses election."
The ad begins with images of rioters destroying cities and ends with an image of Pelosi with the voice-over stating, "Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco Values are Wrong for America."
"With Pelosi at the helm, Democrats and their resistance movement are completely out-of-touch with the majority of Americans," Bliss said. "As we detailed in a recent polling memo, the majority of Americans want a Congress run by Speaker Ryan, not Speaker Pelosi."
