CNN's Wolf Blitzer accidentally mistook political commentator George Stephanopoulos for former Donald Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos on Monday.
Blitzer made the blunder as he began a segment in which he introduced CNN reporters Jim Sciutto and Sara Murray, and asked them about the recent indictments against Paul Manafort and Rick Gates as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
Blitzer made the gaffe and quickly corrected himself.
"Jim, tell us first of all more about the case against George Stephanopoulos—Papadopoulos, I should say—George Papadopoulos, whose role could be very significant in this investigation," Blitzer said.
Stephanopoulos is a former staffer for former President Bill Clinton and currently an ABC News host. Papadopoulos was a foreign policy adviser early in the Trump campaign who was arresting in July, and pleaded guilty earlier this month to making false statements to the FBI.
