Hillary Clinton was interrupted at a Las Vegas rally on Thursday when Direct Action Everywhere protesters appeared from the crowd and rushed towards the stage saying that Clinton needs to support animal rights.
Clinton was delivering remarks about her jobs plan when the protesters appeared. Three of Clinton’s Secret Service agents rushed the stage and whispered something to her. She then went back to the podium and downplayed the stirs from the demonstrators, joking that they must have been there to protest Donald Trump.
"Ok. We’ll keep talking," she said.
"Apparently these people are here to protest Trump because Trump and his kids have killed a lot of animals, so thank you for making that point," Clinton quipped.
Direct Action Everywhere issued a press release following Clinton’s rally quoting their organizer, Kitty Jones, criticizing Clinton and Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) on their support for animal agriculture.
"Clinton’s words on animals are contradictory. She says she supports animal rights while at the same time she and her running mate [Kaine] support an industry–animal agriculture–whose purpose is to kill them and deprive them of freedom," Jones said.
