63% of Dems Say IRS Deliberately Destroyed Emails

More than three quarters of Americans believe that the Internal Revenue Service deliberately destroyed emails requested by congressional investigators looking into the agency’s targeting of conservative and tea party groups, according to a new poll.

Even Democrats are convinced that the IRS is lying when it says that those emails were accidentally destroyed and are now unrecoverable, according to the survey, released on Tuesday by Fox News. Sixty-three percent of Democrats said they thought it was deliberate.

Just twelve percent of respondents, including 20 percent of Democrats and 5 percent of Republicans, said they believed the IRS’s official explanation for the loss of those emails.
