NY Times Reporter By Day, Dem Strategist By Night

NYT’s Jeremy Peters says Obamacare must be sold as ‘sound policy’

On Thursday’s Morning Joe, New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters advocated a strategy for Obamacare to be sold as ‘sound policy’ to the American people:

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Jeremy, obviously we've been hearing and talking about democrats in the Senate especially concerned about the implementation, afraid that maybe Kathleen Sebelius and HHS weren't going to be up to responding as quickly as possible. Was there at least behind the scenes relief from democrats on the hill, like, thank god we're not going to have to defend that in 2014?

JEREMY PETERS: Right, well, I would look at it this way. To the extent the employer mandate is no longer in the picture, it doesn't really help democrats, it just takes away something bad that might have happened. I think what they need to do is they need to find a way -- you're starting to see this with the presidents-- with OFA, the group advertising about the benefits of Obamacare. I think they need to find a way to sell this and convince the public as the senator said, a skeptical public, that this is sound policy.
