Krugman v. Estonia

Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves launched a Twitter counteroffensive against psychohistorian and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, who attacked the nation's economic standing on Wednesday.

Ilves took offense to Krugman’s "smug" post attempting to dispute the view that Estonia is weathering the European economic storm rather well thanks to fiscally conservative policies.

"So, a terrible—Depression-level—slump, followed by a significant but still incomplete recovery," Krugman scoffed. "Better than no recovery at all, obviously—but this is what passes for economic triumph?"

Ilves, Tweeting from his iPhone, unleashed the following barrage:

In Krugman’s defense, a war with Estonia could be just what the United States needs to End This Depression Now!
