As the second enrollment period has opened for Americans, the Affordable Care Act has hit a new low in approval and a new high in disapproval, according to the latest Gallup poll, released Monday.
Only 37 percent of Americans approve of Obamacare, beating the previous low of 38 percent recorded in January. The results are a "new numerical low" for Obamacare.
Around the 2012 election, Americans were slightly more positive than negative about the law. Since then, they have consistently been more likely to disapprove than to approve of the law. The dip began in early November 2013, shortly after millions of Americans received notices that their plans were being canceled--despite repeated claims from President Obama himself that if you like your plan, you can keep it.
The president has said he would consider modifications to the law, but said he would not go as far as to repeal the law--and given his veto power, even a repeal from the Republican-run Congress is unlikely to make it through.
