Crowd Cheers Clinton Field Organizer Praising Progress Under Obama 'to Cut Access to Guns'

October 10, 2016

The crowd at Sen. Tim Kaine’s (D., Va.) rally in Colorado cheered on Monday when a Democratic field organizer for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign praised progress under President Obama "to cut access to guns" in the United States.

Prior to Kaine, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, and musician Dave Matthews appearing together at the rally in Denver, Pat Costigan went on stage to energize the crowd.

"Over the last eight years, we have made so much progress in this country. Whether it’s providing accessible healthcare to everyone, protecting the rights of women, protecting the rights of LGBTQ folks, working to cut access to guns in this country–" Costigan said.

The crowd did not cheer after Costigan highlighted the first three signs of "progress" under Obama, but it did when she referenced the Obama administration’s progress in cutting access to guns.
