Clinton Won't Answer 'Yes or No' Question About Keystone

July 28, 2015

Hillary Clinton made a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Tuesday, where she was asked a yes-or-no question on whether she would sign a bill in favor of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Clinton answered the question, but did not answer the question.

Clinton said that when she was Secretary of State, she started an investigation into the pipeline and has since passed off the investigation to Secretary of State John Kerry.

"This is President Obama’s decision, and I am not going to second-guess him because I was in a position to set this in motion, and I do not think that would be the right thing to do. So I want to wait and see what he and Secretary Kerry decide—if it is undecided when I become president, I will answer your question," Clinton said.

Clinton laughed at the end of her non-answer and was met with weak applause.

Kerry has been testifying and lobbying Congress on the Iran deal and has not continued the investigation into the pipeline.
