Actress Jessica Chastain tweeted Monday that she was aware of the rumors that powerful Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein regularly sexually harassed and assaulted women.
"The stories were everywhere," said Chastain, who starred in two films that were picked up for distribution by the Weinstein Company. She added that she spoke against the decision to have Weinstein distribute her film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.
I was warned from the beginning. The stories were everywhere. To deny that is to create an enviornment for it to happen again.

When asked by a follower why she did not come forward, Chastain replied that it was not her place to do so.
It wasnt my story to tell. Its the victim's decision.
