A 12-year-old Florida boy stole a school bus and drove it 14 miles to Wal-Mart. Police arrested him after a Wal-Mart employee saw him struggling to park the bus.
The 12-year old, Michael Wade Propst, was charged with felony criminal mischief and grand theft.
The bus driver had apparently left his vehicle unattended and the keys in the ignition, and Propst made the most of the opportunity.
It turns out the young felon may be something of a bus-driving prodigy--parking skills aside. Although the bus has an eight-foot-long scrape on its side, Bay District School's head of security Mike Jones claims Propst "looked like a skilled driver" on his security footage.
"You have to take a weeklong course to operate a bus like that," Jones said. "Yet at 12 he was able to drive one, and he didn’t just take it around the block."
At Wal-Mart, Propst insisted he was just "filling it with gas."
