Science: Girls Look Better In Groups (Photos)

A bro circling a group of ladies out on the town is a lot like a mosquito being drawn toward a flame. Both mosquito and bro are oblivious to the fact that they are about to meet a violent death.

Nothing can spoil a bro's night like a lady's group of friends. But, like their insect kin, bros don't yet realize that they're headed to their doom—because science, bro.

Yeah, Science!
Yeah, Science!

According to a UCSD study, women appear more attractive in groups:

(a) The visual system automatically computes ensemble representations of faces presented in a group, (b) individual members of the group are biased toward this ensemble average, and (c) average faces are attractive. Taken together, these phenomena suggest that individual faces will seem more attractive when presented in a group because they will appear more similar to the average group face, which is more attractive than group members’ individual faces.

Meaning: bros are easily overwhelmed by the collective beauty of the group. All of the quirks of the individual ladies are smoothed out when viewed against the backdrop of the group. For example, all three of these ladies, including the cougar in the middle, look lovely.

Like the mosquito to the neon lamp, bros can't help being drawn into the bevy of babes. We don't know any better. It's in our nature.

Also like the mosquito, bros don't know that it's "girls night." No icky boys allowed. Looks like you're headed home alone, bro.

Bros and mosquitos: simple-minded, bloodthirsty, and with low-life expectancy.
