Vice President Joe Biden significantly misstated the number of U.S. service members in Afghanistan while attacking Republican nominee Mitt Romney at a campaign stop Friday.

"By the way, those dependent people he refers to, those 47 percent, they include the 650,000 troops still left in Afghanistan," Biden said in New Hampshire.

The current U.S. service member presence in the country is approximately 68,000, after the departure of the last of 33,000 service members part of the surge.
