Several Democratic presidential candidates on Wednesday called for President Donald Trump's impeachment after Special Counsel Robert Mueller spoke briefly about the Russia investigation.
Rep. Brian Higgins (D., N.Y.) quickly abandoned the small rebellion against Nancy Pelosi to be the next Speaker of the House, announcing Wednesday he would support the lawmaker he previously called "aloof, frenetic and misguided."

Congressman Seth Moulton (D., Mass.) faced backlash at a town hall in his district on Monday for his efforts to oust House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) the party's leader in the House. Sixteen House Democrats and incoming members of Congress signed and released a letter to their Democratic colleagues on Monday saying they "believe more strongly than ever that the time has come for new leadership in our caucus."
Rep. Marcia L. Fudge (D., Ohio) is being floated by several Democrats as a potential contender to face off against House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) to determine who will be the speaker of the House when Democrats retake the majority in January.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said last week she was "100 percent" confident she would be speaker of the House come January, but two Democrats leading the campaign against her are as certain of new leadership, saying Tuesday they are also "100 percent confident" they can "forge new leadership." 
Third-ranking House Democrat James Clyburn (D., S.C.) said he would pursue the speakership if his party wins the House in the midterms and current Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) can't whip the votes needed to be elected to the position.
