Former Obama campaign traveling press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday former Sen. Chuck Hagel will have a "tough confirmation hearing" in a Friday interview with Andrea Mitchell.
"The truth is, if he thinks that Chuck Hagel is the best person to serve the country, the best person to serve in this role who he can go to for advice, I think he'll nominate him," Psaki said, "and he'll have to, of course, have a tough confirmation hearing, but we'll see."
Mitchell noted that Hagel is facing attacks from both the left and right, at the beginning of the segment.
