"The View" did a Halloween segment on Tuesday of children dressed up in topical Halloween costumes over the past year, with one of them of a boy portraying New Jersey governor Chris Christie and his infamous "Beachgate" saga.
Host Joy Behar cackled merrily as the boy walked out, holding a beach chair and wearing a "New Jersey" t-shirt. The costume referred to when Christie and his family were photographed sunbathing on a beach when Christie had closed them to the public amidst a budget standoff.
"He shut down that beach in New Jersey, but we were seeing pictures of him all over that beach that he shut down," wardrobe supervisor Ashley Alderfer-Kaufman explained.
The photo of Christie on the beach became a popular meme.
Other costumes shown off for "The View" audience included a fidget spinner, Hillary Clinton in the woods, Sean Spicer hiding in a bush, and the solar eclipse.
