Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe was hospitalized on Monday due to an accident that occurred while horseback riding in Africa during Christmas vacation.
According to a CBS 6 report, McAuliffe broke several ribs from the fall several weeks ago but did not go the the hospital until it was noticed that there was increased fluid gathering around his lungs.
McAuliffe spoke at an event in Norfolk prior to traveling back to Richmond where he was admitted to VCU's hospital.
