A campaign ad released by the Humane Society Legislative Fund suggests that, if not for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D., La.), voters' dogs could have been "forced to fight other dogs" or "killed for entertainment."
"It could have been different--could have been forced to fight other dogs, could have been killed for entertainment in a sick crush video," the video narrator said over footage of a pet dog. "Or locked in a small cage for life in a puppy mill."
The narrator claims Landrieu helped 'crack down' on puppy mills and enacted harsher penalties for illegal dog fighting.
The HSLF poured $132,000 into the Louisiana Senate runoff election, the largest donation from a liberal group supporting Landrieu.
Landrieu will face Republican challenger Bill Cassidy for a final debate Monday before the runoff election on Saturday, December 6.
