Obama Says Clinton Is More Qualified For President Than He Is

June 9, 2016

President Barack Obama gave his highly anticipated endorsement of Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton on Thursday.

Obama said during his endorsement that Clinton is the most qualified candidate in history.

"Look, I know how hard this job can be. That's why I know Hillary will be so good at it. In fact, I don't think there's ever been someone so qualified to hold this office," Obama said.

While Obama’s endorsement video was released Thursday, it was filmed Tuesday before the results of the multiple primaries that occurred that day.

Clinton became the presumptive Democratic Party nominee after winning the state of California.

Clinton's opponent Sen. Bernie Sander (I., Vt.) has said that he will stay in the race until the Washington, D.C., primary next Tuesday. Sanders has also said that he wants to continue his progressive movement fight well after the election.
