Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle directed her supporters to an animated pornography site in a recent campaign mailer.
Angle, who is running a long-shot bid for the Republican nomination, advised her supporters to "look at candidate websites and see what they say about themselves."
She provided a web address, joeheck.com, for Republican rival Rep. Joe Heck’s campaign that is actually the address of an "anime" pornography site.
Photos of the mailer, which was designed to look like a newspaper, were posted on Twitter on Thursday by Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston.
Heck led Angle by 56 points in an April poll of the Republican nominating contest.
Angle previously ran an unsuccessful campaign against Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.). This year’s contest will determine who succeeds the retiring Reid.
The winner of the Republican primary will face former Democratic state attorney general Catherine Cortez-Masto.
