As Democrats continue to grapple with Hillary Clinton’s growing email scandal, Politico's Edward-Isaac Dovere reported Monday that there are fresh concerns within the White House about how the Democratic frontrunner is handling the scrutiny, especially after a testy press conference last week.
"I talked to some folks in the White House last week who watched the press conference that Hillary Clinton had, and they told me they were a little concerned," Dovere said.
Clinton’s campaign has struggled to explain why Clinton elected to use a private email address run through an unsecured personal server located in a bathroom to run official government business with classified information.
With the campaign electing to joke about the FBI investigation rather than take it seriously, Democrats are growing more uncomfortable.
"It’s clear that Democrats, or some of them, are having a difficult time explaining this, " MSNBC’s Tamron Hall said.
California Gov. Jerry Brown referred to "dark energy" surrounding the email scandal during a Meet the Press interview Sunday and even compared the emails to a vampire.
"These are people in the West Wing, top people in Obama’s two campaigns, who are saying they are concerned about what is going on," Dovere said.
Dovere reported that a number of Obama’s top aides are spit on whether they would support Vice President Joe Biden’s potential run for the presidency to succeed his boss. With Clinton suffering under the appearance she is not honest or trustworthy, Biden is seriously considering giving her a challenge for the nomination.
