CNN’s New Day panel said Democrats face a tough year ahead, largely due to the disastrous Obamacare rollout and its long-term affects.
Americans are frustrated with Democrats because of the President’s failure to successfully implement his signature piece of legacy- Obamacare. Their anger with President Obama is evident in polls. John King cited a new Quinnipiac poll that reported the President’s approval rating has fallen to just 39% in Iowa and predicted that such a low number will spell doom for Democrats.
National Journal’s Ron Fournier told the panel, "If you put yourself in the shoes of an average American, a year or so ago, your premium went up, you blamed the [insurance] company- now you blame Democrats."
"You blame Democrats," agreed panelist Nia Malika Henderson.
Democrats thought that by proposing to fix Obamacare, they could steer clear of the health exchange scandal, but the panel revealed that it may be too little too late- Americans are growing weary of broken promises. A specific solution has not been proposed by Democrats, only chatter of a vague fix.
