Chelsea Clinton revealed that she spent her 20s "rebelling" against her parents by working in the private sector.
During an interview with Yahoo! News anchor Katie Couric, Clinton said she focused on issues that did not interest the President and First Lady.
"I certainly spent my 20s rebelling, for me, by working in the private sector," Clinton said. "And trying really hard to care about things that my parents didn’t care about."
Clintons's parents have been creatures of Washington for decades and their private sector experience is limited to giving paid speeches.
One of Clinton's 'rebellious' activities included getting paid $600,000 to cover soft news stories for NBC.
Clinton, who was named one of Glamour's ‘Women of the Year’ on Tuesday, said she was "grateful" for the time she spent away from her parents and their political pursuits.
"I’m grateful for those years that I spent because I learned things that I hadn’t learned around my dinner table," Clinton said.
Still, Clinton said she is her parents’ daughter and "ultimate cared most about what they cared most about."
