The announcer at Hillary Clinton's speech before the United Food & Commercial Workers union introduced her as the "Secretary-of-the-Treasurer" Thursday, rather than her actual title of former secretary of state.
"Brothers and sisters of UFCW, please welcome your international president, Marc Perrone, and the future President of the United States, Secretary-of-the-Treasurer Hillary Clinton," he said.
The announcer stumbled over his words, apparently meaning to say Secretary of the Treasury, as Secretary of the Treasurer is not an actual title. Either way, he was wrong.
The strong associations between Clinton and money could have accounted for the slip-up. Clinton has collected millions of dollars in speaking fees, and she has taken particular flack for her exorbitant payouts from Wall Street institutions for speeches.
