An explosion at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada during a U.S. Marine Corps training exercise killed seven Marines Monday night, reports the Associated Press and ABC 7:

The Hawthorne Army Depot stores and disposes of ammunition. The facility is made up of hundreds of buildings spread over more than 230 square miles.
According to ABC News, the Marines were from a battalion based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
