Rep. Dave Camp: IRS Scandal Did Not Originate in Ohio

Claims that the IRS targeting of conservative groups originated in the bureau's Cincinnati offices is false, the Hill reported the House Republican in charge of tax policy as saying Wednesday.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R., Mich.) did not elaborate further but confirmed after a series of interviews by House investigators that the targeting did not "originate" in the IRS offices in Ohio.

"We know it didn’t originate in Cincinnati," Camp said after speaking at an event hosted by Baker Hostetler and the Federal Policy Group. "We still don’t know who did originate this."
