Psaki: U.S. Not Taking Sides In Egypt

'We are hopeful they can come to a political resolution'

On Wednesday, State Department spokeswomen Jen Psaki dodged questions on the preferred outcome for the United States in the current turmoil taking place inside Egypt.

This comes a few hours after President Mohamed Morsi rejected the Egyptian army ultimatum and insisted he was the legitimate leader of the country. In a speech, Morsi suggested that any effort to remove him by force could plunge the nation into chaos.
