Keane: Only Way to Stop N. Korea Provocations Is Regime Change

Retired four-star General Jack Keane said the only way to stop bellicose rhetoric and actions from North Korea is to convince China that regime change and a unified Korea is in their national interest Wednesday on FNC:

JENNA LEE: Sure. Where does it stop though, General Keane? Where we don't have every week or every month or wondering if North Korea will shoot off another missile?

JACK KEANE: The only way it is going to stop is the regime has to change and our strategic and geopolitical objectives should be that. I'm not suggesting we do it militarily but we do it every possible way we can to undermine this regime. Certainly China is very key here. China has always believed that a unified Korea is not in their national interests. They do not want a unified Korea as an ally to the United States on their border, but quite frankly they wouldn't have a U.N. command in a unified Korea and probably wouldn't have 30,000 U.N. troops in a unified Korea either. So I think it is in their interests but we've never been able to convince them of that.
