Angus King: 'I don't know why the White House shouldn't just make them available generally'

Sen. Angus King (I., Maine) called on the White House to release Benghazi emails Monday on MSNBC, saying he did not think there was necessarily a cover-up but making them public was the only way to answer that question.

King made that statement despite saying he had already read the emails in an intelligence committee meeting.

"The question now is was there some kind of cover-up?" King said. "I think we ought to have a look at those documents. I've seen them in the intelligence committee. I don't know why the White House shouldn't just make them available generally, the emails that went back and forth about the famous talking points, and then we can get to the bottom of whether there was some effort to cover things up."
