General: 170,000 Rockets, Missiles Target Israel

The head of the Israeli Defense Forces Military Intelligence’s Research Division, Brig. Gen. Itai Brun said Monday that more than 170,000 rockets and missiles are currently targeting Israel, Israel Hayom reports.

Brun said in a speech that the majority of those missiles are located in Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip.

Brun also spoke about Iran’s nuclear program.

"It is very possible that Iran and the world powers that are negotiating with it are moving toward signing a permanent nuclear deal sometime later this year, " Brun said. "In the meantime, Iran is abiding by the interim agreement and the pressures it is under, mainly the economic crisis, are leading it toward a dialogue, which we regard as serious-minded, on a permanent agreement."
