Former Ohio Reps File Disclosure Forms from Prison

Two former Ohio Democratic lawmakers have filed their financial disclosure statements--from state prison.

Former Reps. W. Carlton Weddington and Clayton Luckie, convicted on unrelated crimes, were fulfilling legal requirements because they served in elected office last year, the Columbus Dispatch reports:

Luckie was sentenced in January to three years in prison and was ordered to repay the state nearly $12,000 in salary after he improperly spent about $130,000 in campaign funds, then falsified documents to cover up his actions. An FBI investigation uncovered the activity.

His filing lists 14 creditors of which he owes at least $1,000 each.

Weddington was convicted in June 2012 to one count each of bribery, election falsification and an ethics violation and was sentenced to three years in prison. He was caught in an FBI sting where agents posed as businessmen, giving him all-expenses-paid trips, cash and contributions in exchange for him introducing legislation.
