Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that "Russia has been an ally," praising the country for being "very helpful" in Afghanistan, among other things.
"In many of the areas where we are working to solve problems Russia has been an ally," Clinton said in an interview with CNN.
She praised Russia for its work in the P5+1, a group of major nations working to stop Iran’s pursuit of nuclear arms, as well as for its help in war torn Afghanistan.
"I think its somewhat dated to be looking backwards instead of being realistic about where we agree, where we don’t agree but looking for ways to bridge the disagreements and then maximize the cooperation," Clinton said.
