The White House is turning to Hollywood to broadcast its immigration platform, distributing a social media script for A-list stars to publicize among their followers.
White House Associate Director of Public Engagement Jesse Moore sent out an email blast last week encouraging Hollywood heavyweights to join its #IAmAnImmigrant movement in honor of June’s "Immigration Heritage Month," Fox News reported Monday.
"We are a nation of immigrants, and whether you are an immigrant, the child or grandchild of immigrants, or you stand with immigrants—it’s on all of us to ensure that we continue to recognize the role immigrants continue to play at the core of this country," Moore wrote in the email.
He also attached a video for celebrities to share.

Moore encouraged the stars to use their "own voice" when crafting a social media post, but also provided copy-and-paste text for those unwilling to improvise.
"#IAmAnImmigrant honors each of our families’ sacrifices, struggles, and successes – America’s strength is reflected in our diversity built over generations," one pre-written message read.

The campaign serves as a follow-up to the White House’s gun control messaging push in January, where Obama officials blasted out scripted talking points for celebrities to repost to their high profile social media pages.
Kerry Washington, Julianne Moore, Rosie Perez, and Arianna Huffington are among those who have already joined the administration’s immigration push.
