NBC Nightly News reported on a California man Tuesday who had his health insurance cancelled and is paying $70 more per month for inferior coverage, going against the Democratic talking point that affected citizens would do better under Obamacare.
A "reluctant" enrollee, Gary King called his experience "disappointing."
"And I find having to pay more money for coverage that's not really as good for me is pretty disappointing, but as far as getting the insurance under the California exchange, it was easy enough once you figure out how to do it," he said.
Correspondent Peter Alexander called King's experience in signing up successfully the exception, and the numbers so far are well off the government's hopes of getting to 7 million enrollees by the end of March.
