Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) said on Your World with Neil Cavuto Thursday that he has reason to believe the Iranian government is supplying Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad with the military equipment that Assad is using against his own people.
CAVUTO: What is our obligation there? We got off topic, but if it escalates to the degree it has and we get the video this comes in, just horrific, and this is some of stuff we are showing, do we just stand by? Should we stand by? Does it complicate how we deal with Iran? Maybe we are rightly focusing on Iran and not Syria?
LIEBERMAN: No, we have to focus on both, but the immediate crisis is really in Syria, but it is related to Iran, as I said, not only because Syria is Iran’s number one ally in the Arab world, but because Iran is supplying the Syrian army and Assad with the military equipment with which they are killing their people. I have reason to believe there are Iranian personnel advising Syrians how to do just that.
