Former "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and popular morning talk show host Regis Philbin told Larry King in an interview on Tuesday why he and former cohost Kelly Ripa no longer speak.
Philbin said that he thinks that Ripa took him leaving personally.
"She got very offended when I left. She thought I was leaving because of her," he said. "I was leaving because I was getting older and it wasn't right for me anymore."
Philbin said he does not stay in contact with Ripa and has not been asked back to be a special co-host for a day.
Philbin and Ripa co-hosted ABC's "Live With Regis and Kelly" for 11 years. When Philbin left the broadcast he had been on the air for 28 years.
But he said that he did miss hosting the show.
"I do miss it. There are times when I really miss it and I wish I'd never stopped," Philbin said. "But, you know, I just figured it was time to let it go."
