Packy the elephant had no problem packing down the pounds with a ginormous cake to celebrate his 52nd birthday.
The Portland, Oregon elephant weighing in at a hefty six tons, enjoyed a 40 pound birthday cake made with five pounds of butter (for the buttercream frosting), carrots, bananas, apples, and sweet potatoes.
Zookeepers report that in years past, Packy simply demolished his birthday cake. But this year, Packy cheerily noshed on the cake, taking polite bites - perhaps a sign of the type of maturity and refined elegance one acquires after making it over the hill.
