Living in D.C. is More Expensive than New York

Washington, D.C., is the most expensive place to live in the United States, the Washington Post reports.

The conclusion comes from a new Bureau of Labor Statistics report that analyzed the expenses of housing, utilities, furniture, and other household supplies.

The study found that D.C. residents spend an average of $28,000 on housing-related items. San Francisco and New York are the second and third most expensive cities with average expenditures of $26,000 and $23,000, respectively.
