Sen. Al Franken (D., Minn.) blamed Republicans for the major premiums hikes under Obamacare set to hit next year while speaking with CNN's Jake Tapper on Thursday.
Tapper told Franken a story about a Minnesota relative of his who voted for President Obama four years ago but cast his ballot for President-elect Donald Trump in the 2016 election due to skyrocketing Obamacare premiums.
"How much do you think Obamacare might have ultimately hurt Hillary Clinton?" Tapper asked.
Franken agreed that Obamacare contributed to Clinton's loss and then blamed Republicans for the health care premium hikes.
"The people they should be mad at, really, are Republican officeholders who refused to do anything other than vote to repeal the [Affordable Care Act]," he said.
On September 30, Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman announced that health insurance rates will increase from 50 percent to 67 percent in 2017.
