The biggest storyline to come thus far out of the Democratic National Convention was the surprising decision by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) to resign as chair of the Democratic National Committee and lose her role of gaveling in and out the convention.
The convention’s replacement gavel-er, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, nearly messed up her one job. She welcomed the various guests and those tuning in from around the world before giving her dramatic, ceremonial line.
"I hereby call the 47th quadrennial Democratic National Convention to order!" Rawlings-Blake said.
She smiled and walked away from the lectern, but someone on stage stopped her and she hurried back. She appeared to grab the gavel from beneath the lectern and officially began the convention.
NBC Nightly News tweeted out a great gif of the moment.

You had one job, Mayor Rawlings-Blake.
