BBC reporter and Morning Joe panelist Katty Kay said Wednesday that Hillary Clinton has a "tonal problem" that came across in her first national interview of the 2016 campaign with CNN Tuesday evening.
"I think there is this tonal problem," Kay said. "She comes across as not wanting to be asked these tough questions, bristling slightly at the press' role in asking questions ... She needs somebody around her who's saying, look, you have to try and have a manner with the press when you're being asked these questions that doesn't come across as so defensive or so irritated by the fact that you're being asked tough questions."
New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman also remarked Wednesday that Clinton appeared defensive and irritated about answering questions about her private email server as secretary of state and the questions it has raised about her honesty and trustworthiness.
